Hurricane season is in full swing with Gustav, Hanna, and now Ike. Most people are wondering about the Ike New Orleans possibilities. To answer that here are some Computer Models for Hurricane Ike that I found:

5 day tracking on Ike:

and here’s Ike as it has developed into a category 3 Hurricane:

now hurricane projections can often be wrong. But from the 5 day projection it looks like the Hurricane will be gaining strength and heading for New Orleans. It is reported that Ike could grow in strength to a category 4 and has been reported to have sustained winds as high as 115 mph.
