An article that appeared in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported on a United Airlines Bankruptcy story. The only problem was that their source was a Chicago Tribune article that was over 5 years old.

After news of the bankruptcy came out, shares of the stock dropped by 76%, then United Airlines announced that the article was wrong and they were not filing for bankruptcy, at which point the stock regained most of its losses.

It’s not clear how the South Florida Sun-Sentinel could have fcked up so badly. It also sucks for anyone who sold their stock after it had dropped on the “false bankruptcy” news. Someone should lose their job for this one.

Here’s everything we know about the Tom Brady Injury up until now.

1) 7:37 into the Patriots Game vs the Chiefs, Brady threw a 26 yard pass to Randy Moss and was hit low by Bernard Pollard

2) Brady immediately went down clutching his left knee

Protestors lined the streets as the Turkish President, Abdullah Gul, went to attend the diplomatic match of Armenia VS Turkey Soccer.

Turkey won the first game of the 2010 world cup qualifying rounds with goals in the second half by Turkish players Tuncay Sanli and Semih Senturk.

The match was also attended by Armenian president Serzh Sarksyan in an effort for peace in light of the Georgia-Russia conflict.

Armenia and Turkey relations have been tense ever since ethnic cleansing of Armenians by the Turkish goverment during World War I. Do you think the soccer match eased tensions between Armenia and Turkey or intensified them?

Hurricane season is in full swing with Gustav, Hanna, and now Ike. Most people are wondering about the Ike New Orleans possibilities. To answer that here are some Computer Models for Hurricane Ike that I found:

now hurricane projections can often be wrong. But from the 5 day projection it looks like the Hurricane will be gaining strength and heading for New Orleans. It is reported that Ike could grow in strength to a category 4 and has been reported to have sustained winds as high as 115 mph. OK, I don’t know who started this internet rumor, but it’s not true. Miley Cyrus is not dead. This image to the right has been floating around the internet. If you go to yahoo news and type in miley cyrus, you can see nothing about it comes up.

Moreover if you go to reuters and type the search in, nothing comes back. Just some prank started by some punk. oh and please stop digging this hoax. The Hannah Montana star is alive and well.

UPDATE: it looks like digg is doing a good job of shutting down diggs like this one. Whoever is trying to push this rumor came over and spammed about 40 comments on this blog claiming they saw it on TV. Pretty sick whoever is trying to push this thing.

The FDA recently announced an investigation into a list of 20 drugs that may have potential side effects. In this list of drugs is the anti-depressant Cymbalta and the pain killer Oxycontin. Some side effect are very serious including cardiac arrest, cancer, and Purple Glove Syndrome.

I had never heard of Purple Glove Syndrome, and I doubt you have so here’s what I found out about it. Purple Glove Syndrome is a skin disorder that cause your extremities to become swollen and painful. It got its name because it often effects the  hands. It isn’t well understood but can lead to amputation.

Carol Cafferty, wife of CNN correspondant Jack Cafferty of the Cafferty files passed away unexpectedly this morning. The announcement was made by Wolf Blitzer on CNN. It’s not known yet how she died.

Ann Kilkenny, a woman from the same town as Sarah Palin (Wasilla, Alaska) recently wrote an email that was leaked giving her account on what she has seen from Sara Palin. She says she knew Palin since 1992 and that her children went to the same school together.

She puts to rest any rumors about Palin’s recent baby, Trig, being the secret baby of her daugther, Bristol Palin. She also details that Palin ran on a platform of fiscal conservative in her run for mayor, but went on to increase the town’s budget by 33% as well as increasing taxes by 38%.

When all was said in done Kilkenny reveals that Palin left the town in debt by $22 million. She goes over the well known case of her firing Alaska’s Top Cop because he refused to fire her ex-brother in-law who was going through a messy divorice with her sister. Keep in mind that this is just one woman’s perspective and there’s two sides to every story. I found this photo on flickr of “Caribou Barbie“, a term coined by bloggers on Sarah Palin.

Clearly a photoshopped picture of her, but I was watching the RNC last night and a lot of people were saying how hot they thought Palin was.  I don’t really see it, but what do you guys think?
